Founded in 2012, MOV is a Brazilian impact investing fund manager. Our mission is to invest in and co-create innovative companies that generate opportunities to vulnerable populations and/or promote sustainable use of natural resources. We aim to be a relevant and inspiring agent in the process of transitioning into a more harmonious and balanced living.

Investment Criteria

We look for companies whose services and products serve as transformational tools for the most vulnerable and/or generate environmental assets for a cleaner and more inclusive development.

We understand that economic vitality is key to attract best in class human and financial capital that enable virtuous cycles of growth and sustainability.

We believe in the power of individuals to overcome meaningful challenges. We invest in people with strong entrepreneurial spirit, execution capacity and alignment with our vision.

We seek organizations with the ambition and ability to respond to the magnitude and complexity of our society’s challenges.

We appreciate those who see problems through new lenses. We embrace innovation as a tool to transform and shape realities.

We live in a world driven by the industrial revolution. The power and direction behind it was such that today we face clear signs of ‘exhaustive transformation’. The next generations might not have access to the resources we have today.

Governments and societies have been working hard to compensate the imbalances produced by this model: social inequalities and natural resources depletion. The complexity and magnitude of these challenges though instill limitations.

We believe in a systemic approach – one with better alignment of incentives and balance of forces.

We relate to business models that steer market forces to a more inclusive and sustainable end. Through these models, those initially excluded become their own transformation agents while the preservation of nature is considered as economically attractive.

The corporation is today’s most influential and pervasive entity. It has the ability to align multiple stakeholders and create virtuous cycles.

We recognize this. We will use these lessons to create value in a more balanced and sustainable way. That is what we call Impact Investing.
